Venue: Srimad Anantheswara Vinayaka Temple, Madhur, Kasaragod district, North Kerala.
The fiveday annual festival at Srimad Anantheswara Vinayaka Temple at Madhur in Kasaragod is a colourful event. On the fourth day the image of the deity (Thidampu) is taken out in a long procession. The presentation of various folk arts and Yakshagana, the dancedrama, add to the festivities and excitement.
The temple is dedicated to Sree Vinayaka ( Ganesha ), the remover of obstacles. Standing against a landscape of hills, paddy fields and gardens on the banks of the river Madhuvahini, the temple architecture is a fine blend of the Kerala and Karnataka styles.
