Interview with Deepak Ravindran, CEO of Innoz Technologies PVT Ltd, the first offsite incubated company under TBI.  
Q. Being one of the companies that focus on a most competitive and fast changing mobile-web vertical, how far you been successful?    
A. The Indian telecom industry is one of the fastest growing in the world and India is projected to become second largest telecom market globally by 2010. Over 400 million wireless connections are active in India today.

Even the global economic slowdown has done less to affect its growth. The mobile VAS market has grown by around 60 per cent year on year and is estimated to touch INR 251 billion in FY 2009-10. The dominance of companies over this field never bothered us because only when something new comes up, do people realize the opportunities and opt for the new product to make life more comfortable.

Starting with SMSGYAN-the on demand platform empowering millions with instant informations,`Innoz’ was instrumental in building trust & loyalty among the mobile users. With the advent of 3G and similar faster mobile networks around the world, high quality applications on mobile and portable devices is bound to see an exponential growth. They can also dramatically speed up mobile users to go into a "talk less-act smart" generation. Keeping this in mind, we developed TRANZ which enables you to share photos,videos & music with your friends and family - right from your GPRS/3G mobile phone.

With telecom operators and handset vendors predicting their future success on data-enabled services, we are soon about to get an expressway that will fulfill our present and future need for serving mobile users.

Q. How far the Technopark and TBI tag have helped Innoz in reaching out the world outside?    
A. The words from Tecnopark TBI: ‘great ideas remain on paper if the right environment with right conditions is not provided’, is quite apt for us. Technopark is giving us the best working environment and the guidance in all possible ways. We have great regard for them and their support is really making a big difference for us. We are the first offsite incubated company under TBI. Our biggest breakthrough-representing INDIA on the finals of DFJ-CISCO GLOBAL BIZ 2009 competition along side Stanford and Georgia Tech teams was made possible with the help of Technopark TBI.

Q. You are a vibrant team of youngsters. Where do you see `Innoz in five years down the lane?    
A. Innoz is a fast growing mobile and web expert company founded in August 2008. Our young founding team Deepak Ravindran ,Abhinav Sree,Ashwin Nath and Mohd. Hisamuddin met each other at their engineering college in Kerala and are the CEO, COO, CSA and CIO respectively.

We are a privately held company with offices at India's Finest I.T park (Technopark,Kerala) & India's no1 Business school(IIM-Ahmedabad). Our dream is quite straight- be a major player in mobile industry and make a difference to the world and also to be a role model for more youngsters to be successful entrepreneurs. Our goal is to give people more reasons to smile by our innovations, as we believe this leads to positive things happening in the world.

We’re well-funded with listings on leading VAS directories and are building a company to last. Our investors include Silicon Valley veterans & we are supported by Intel,Microsoft & SUN through promising partner programs. The aim is a billion dollar company in five years.

Q. What was the guiding spirit that prompted you guys to take a decision to start a company at the age when most of your classmates must have been searching for a job?    
A. Dream big and do whatever it takes to realize your dreams’. These were the words that inspired us to join this growing culture of young entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship is a growing culture in India and more young people are daring to explore the unknown. The most important thing is the satisfaction of being your own boss and making a difference.

Q. What is the message that you would like to give to younger generations?    
A. Never wait for the right time because the world is changing so fast. Finding a good team & Keeping them together is a challenge but the core strength lies in the team. Keep a very high and positive frame of mind. The most important factor is your dream which will always be your biggest inspiration. It is not easy to mix student life and business but it is definitely not impossible. Always have the desire to learn because whether you fail or succeed, the learning process never ends.
