Angamaly is a municipality and the northernmost tip of Ernakulam district. Originally established as a panchayat in May 1952, Angamaly became a municipality in April 1978 and is also a Legislative Assembly constituency from 1965 in the Ernakulam district. Angamaly is one of the ancient Christian centres of Kerala.  Kochi International Airport is located at Nedumbassery near Angamaly.

അങ്കമാലി, എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയുടെ വടക്കേ അറ്റത്തുള്ള ഒരു മുനിസിപ്പാലിറ്റിയാണ് അങ്കമാലി. 1952 മെയ് മാസത്തിൽ ഒരു പഞ്ചായത്തായി സ്ഥാപിതമായ അങ്കമാലി 1978 ഏപ്രിലിൽ ഒരു മുനിസിപ്പാലിറ്റിയായി മാറി, 1965 മുതൽ എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ ഒരു നിയമസഭാ മണ്ഡലം കൂടിയാണിത്. കേരളത്തിലെ പുരാതന ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് അങ്കമാലി. കൊച്ചി അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളം അങ്കമാലിക്കടുത്ത് നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരിയിലാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
