Upputhara is a village in Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala. Upputhara panchayat, belonging to the block panchayat of Kattappana, is situated in the southern part of Idukki district in the Peermade taluk. The panchayat is bordered by the Periyar River in the east, the Meenmutti Lake in the west, the Chinnar River and the Karintharuvi River in the south and the Kakkathode protected forests in the north.

കേരളത്തിലെ ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ ഒരു ഗ്രാമമാണ് ഉപ്പുതറ. കട്ടപ്പന ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഉപ്പുതറ പഞ്ചായത്ത്, ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയുടെ തെക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് പീരുമേട് താലൂക്കിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. കിഴക്ക് പെരിയാറും പടിഞ്ഞാറ് മീൻമുട്ടി കായലും തെക്ക് ചിന്നാർ പുഴയും കരിന്തരുവി പുഴയും വടക്ക് കാക്കത്തോട് സംരക്ഷിത വനങ്ങളുമാണ് പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ അതിർത്തികൾ.
