Thamarassery, formerly known as Thazhmalachery, it is one of the taluk in Kozhikode district and major hill town in the Kozhikode district of Kerala, 30 km north-east of Kozhikode (Calicut) City and 29 km east of Koyilandy.Thamarassery is well connected to its surrounding areas via roads, which reach from it to Kozhikode, Kalpetta, Koyilandy, and Mukkam. 

കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിലെ താമരശ്ശേരി താലൂക്കിലെ കൊടുവള്ളി ബ്ളോക്കിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട പഞ്ചായത്താണ്‌ താമരശ്ശേരി. മലയോരപട്ടണമാണ്‌ ഇത്. വയനാട് ജില്ലയിലേക്കുള്ള ഒരു പ്രധാന പ്രവേശനകവാടമായ താമരശ്ശേരി ചുരം ഇവിടെയാണ്‌.
